Themes 2005 – 2010

The Sustainability Task Force and The Green Team focus on one issue each year.  There are so many ways we can reach out to both our community and the world at large.  To help the children make the most of our interconnected and branching ideas, we have selected themes that can be used on all levels – each division, each part of the building, each community of adults.  If you have any theme suggestions, please make comments below, or forward them to the STF group.  Over the years, our themes have included;

2005 – 2006 – Launching a Team: Earth Day at GCS

2006-2007 – Trees, Paper, and Forest Resources.  Read the Earth Day Chapel talk about Trees and our Smencil Fundraiser,Earth Day Chapel 2007.

2009-2010 – Green Power:  eWaste and Green Tech. 2010 EarthDayChapel10.   Our team is focused on how we use, re-use and recycle electronic resources.  We worked closely with the Technology Committee on ways our school could use cutting edge technology.

2010 – 2011 – FOOD AND FOOD WASTE! This school year we will be focusing on our school’s kitchen, greenhouse, and composting.  Send suggestions and ideas to our green team anytime at
